The Pivot to an Avalanche Treasury
Avax One has rewritten its story. Once a pure-play Bitcoin miner, it now describes itself as a digital infrastructure company built on three pillars: the Avalanche digital asset treasury, Bitcoin mining, and high performance computing. In the Q2 2026 call, interim CEO Pete Wylie emphasized institutional adoption, pointing to Tassat's migration of its Lynq settlement network onto Avalanche. “Tassat moved Lynq onto a dedicated Avalanche Layer 1, effectively giving the network its own customized blockchain environment.” — Peter Wylie, Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer · 2026-08-13 The network processed over $2.5 trillion in transactions, a credible proof point for the institutional settlement use case. The company now holds over 14 million AVAX tokens, including 800,000 deployed to Treehouse for extra yield, and generated $2.1 million in staking rewards in the quarter. The Financial Reality
Revenue is still tiny at $2.8 million, and the company is burning cash. Net income fell to -$45 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2026, though most of that is a non-cash unrealized loss on the crypto portfolio. The real story is the asset value: $93.5 million in digital assets against a market cap of $51.7 million. CFO Chris Polimeni stressed the liquidity cushion: “We believe our liquidity position, coupled with our ability to generate additional liquidity by leveraging or liquidating the digital assets earned through staking and Bitcoin mining will provide the company with sufficient liquidity to fund our operating expenses as well as to execute our growth strategy without the need to raise additional capital.” — Christopher Polimeni · 2026-08-13 The balance sheet has also been tidied up with a $6.8 million debenture restructuring, and liabilities-to-assets are down to just 9.1%.CEO Transition and the AI Pause
The leadership change is the most visible shift. Jolie Kahn, who had pushed an aggressive data-center build-out, is gone, replaced by interim CEO Pete Wylie. When asked what the board wants in a permanent CEO, Wylie said: “Our 3 pillars are quite clear, building the Avalanche digital asset treasury, enhancing our Bitcoin mining operations and exploring AI infrastructure.” — Peter Wylie, Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer · 2026-08-13 The tone on AI is notably more cautious than in the prior quarter. Kahn had targeted a first microgrid data center by Q1 2027, but Wylie now talks about "selective" opportunities and a partnership with BlueFlare. In the May call, Kahn described the earlier vision: “we can run powerful protocols on our 10 megawatts microgrid data centers rather than having to use the much larger data center.” — Jolie Kahn, Chief Executive Officer · 2026-05-16 The Redwater inference pilot, a small first step, is already slipping:It remains on track, but we have yet to actually deploy the equipment. There was a long lead time to secure all needed assets to commence the pilot itself.
