The Inflection: A Quarter Ahead of Schedule

Ibotta, Inc. (IBTA) delivered its strongest quarter in over a year, returning to year-over-year revenue growth a full quarter ahead of management's own expectations. “We've returned to year-over-year revenue growth, a full quarter ahead of our expectations.” — Bryan Leach, Founder and Chief Executive Officer · 2026-08-03 CFO Matt Puckett echoed the sentiment: “Total company revenue has returned to growth for the first time since the first quarter of 2025.” — Matthew Puckett, Chief Financial Officer · 2026-08-03 The market responded positively—the stock is up 15% over the last 90 days, though it remains down over 60% from its 2024 peak. The company's offer supply engine is clearly turning.

Offer Supply: The Core Driver

The headline metric is redemption revenue, which grew 10% year-over-year—the fastest pace since Q3 2024. Third-party redemption revenue jumped 27% YoY, while total redeemers grew 21% to 20.9 million. Perhaps more importantly, third-party redemptions per redeemer returned to growth for the first time in two years. “I mean these wins are multiple quarters or some even years in the making.” — Bryan Leach, Founder and Chief Executive Officer · 2026-08-03 This turnaround is directly attributed to the verticalized go-to-market structure and a focus on deepening client relationships. In 2025, the company was still describing itself as “supply constrained... we could accommodate up to 5x to 10x the redemptions we have now.” — Bryan Leach, Founder and CEO · 2025-05-14 The groundwork was laid over the past year, as Bryan noted in May: “we feel like we are in a good place with our expenses to be able to build the products we need to drive the increase in offer supply over the next few years.” — Bryan Leach, Founder and Chief Executive Officer · 2026-05-06 Now, that constraint is easing.

Publisher Expansion: The Network Effect

The biggest strategic win this quarter was the exclusive partnership with 7-Eleven, which adds over 11,500 U.S. stores to the Ibotta Performance Network (IPN). CEO Bryan Leach described how CPG clients actively helped advocate for the deal: "This addition is also a great example of how our network reinforces itself..." The company also launched natively on Uber and went live with Giant Eagle.

We think that network is more valuable, the broader it grows.

This new publisher cadence demonstrates that the redemption revenue growth is not just a one-off.

Outlook and Margin Profile

Management guided Q3 revenue to $86-90M, implying ~6% YoY growth, with a slight sequential dip due to seasonality. They expect to exit 2026 with mid-single-digit growth. The margin story is also improving—non-GAAP gross margin came in at 79.3%, up 170bp sequentially, and free cash flow conversion is tracking above plan at ~70% of adjusted EBITDA. Revenue grew to $88.9M in Q2 from $82M in Q1, reversing a declining trend. The company's balance sheet remains solid with $148M in cash and an ongoing buyback. The transformation appears to be working, though the D2C segment continues to decline—direct-to-consumer redemption revenue was down 24% YoY—as activity shifts to third-party publishers. Still, the company sees a path to re-engage D2C as offer supply improves. The key question is whether this momentum can be sustained through the back half and into 2027.
