Foundation of Trusted Data Meets AI Monetization

NIQ’s Q2 2026 results show a company executing on its AI strategy with accelerating traction. artificial intelligence applications are moving from concept to revenue: AI-native solutions grew 34% year-over-year, and more than 80% of that revenue now comes from recurring clients. The company’s core algorithm is also strengthening — organic constant currency revenue grew 5.8%, adjusted EBITDA margin expanded 270 basis points to 23.3%, and adjusted EPS came in at $0.27, well above guidance.

Q2 marked our fifth consecutive quarter, exceeding the top end of our guidance across all key metrics. We accelerated organic constant currency revenue growth to 5.8%, grew adjusted EBITDA nearly 22% and expanded adjusted EBITDA margin 270 basis points to 23.3%.

The company is now laying the foundation for what it calls "agentic commerce," with the launch of Optiq Bridge and Connect AI, embedding NIQ intelligence into client workflows and LLMs. Troy Treangen, Chief AI and Product Officer, highlighted the pipeline: “Our pipeline has grown quickly to 49 live opportunities... We're going to be adding more charter clients through the end of this year, which will include retailers.” — Troy Treangen, Chief AI and Product Officer · 2026-08-10 This is a clear evolution from prior quarters where AI was more aspirational. In the May 2025 call, Jim Peck described the AI builder concept as a new opportunity: “We're seeing them ask us, please help us because we see that you have the way you look at the world, the semantic layer, the way you look at data is what we need to help string together our own business.” — James Peck, CEO · 2026-05-14 Now, those conversations are formalized into paid services and charter clients like Purina.

Financial Acceleration and Cash Inflection

The financial profile is inflecting, with levered free cash flow turning positive at $74.1 million in Q2 and net leverage down to 3.1x. The company raised full-year guidance, implying roughly $300 million of second-half free cash flow generation. Margin expansion is being driven by both revenue operating leverage and AI-led productivity initiatives, which contributed about half of the 270 basis points of margin improvement. AI at scale is becoming a cost-side lever as well as a growth driver. Operating margin swung from a -20% trough in 2024 to +4% in Q1 2026, before a seasonal dip to -6% in Q2, reflecting the company's heavy fixed-cost base and ongoing investments. The company is also expanding its data assets: NIQ added 4.3 trillion new consumer transaction records per week, and data consumption on its platform grew 25% year-over-year. This feeds the proprietary agentic AI offering that NIQ believes is distinct from generic AI challengers. As Jim Peck noted, “We believe that combination is impractical, if not impossible, to replicate.” — James Peck, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) · 2026-08-10 This is the core of their defensibility argument, echoing the governance themes from prior calls. In February, Jim stressed the importance of governed data: “We have very sophisticated methods of understanding where they feel like they have entitlement issues or their own governance, and we're able to put those in place across all the jurisdictions that we serve.” — James Peck, CEO · 2026-02-27

Regional and Product Momentum

Growth is broad-based: Americas grew 8.3%, EMEA accelerated to 4.9%, and APAC returned to growth at 1.9%. Revenue from newer adjacent verticals like ad tech and retail media is gaining traction, with wins at an ad tech platform and Unlimitail. Full View measurement now has over 200 clients, and the company continues to win back accounts from competitors on the strength of its AI roadmap and unified data platform. The stock has responded dramatically — up over 80% in the last 90 days and 118% from its April lows. This reflects investor confidence that the AI narrative is translating into tangible numbers.

Our Connect AI services are specifically for one of our AI segments... These are a series of clients that want to bring insights and analytics into their environments and use that NIQ intelligence to amplify those workflows.

That quote from Troy during Q&A captures the essence of the new monetization model: moving from selling insights to embedding NIQ’s intelligence directly into client operations and AI ecosystems. With raised guidance and a clear path to sub-3x leverage, NIQ is demonstrating it can be both a growth and a margin story.
