Red Violet's Record Q2: Home Health Expansion and a $109M War Chest Fuel the Identity Intelligence Moats

Identity intelligence demand accelerates as FOREWARN moves beyond real estate and AI capabilities deepen.

A Record Quarter with a Story Behind It

Red Violet's Q2 2026 was nothing short of exceptional: revenue hit a record $26.7M (up 23% YoY), adjusted EBITDA margin reached 42%, and the company added 447 new IDI customers — the highest single-quarter total in its history. As Derek Dubner put it, “Q2 was our strongest quarter across every financial metric.” — Derek Dubner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer · 2026-08-10 The results were broad-based, with four of five revenue verticals hitting all-time highs, and the growth was driven by a structural shift in how organizations approach identity verification. Organizations are no longer treating identity intelligence as a nice-to-have; they are building it into their workflows because the cost of getting identity wrong — financially, legally, and reputationally — has never been higher. This isn't a new narrative for Red Violet, but the pace of execution is. The company has now delivered 31 consecutive quarters of double-digit revenue growth, and the Q2 numbers show margins expanding even while SG&A investment continues. CFO Daniel MacLachlan noted, “This was another quarter where growth and profitability moved together.” — Daniel MacLachlan, Chief Financial Officer · 2026-08-10 The operating leverage is visible in the fundamentals: Revenue growth has been relentless, rising from $2M in 2017 to $26M in Q2 2026, and the model is throwing off increasing free cash flow.

FOREWARN's Network Effect Goes Vertical

The most significant development this quarter was the expansion of FOREWARN into home health care. With over 443,000 users and 660 realtor associations contracted (more than half of the ~1,300 associations nationwide), FOREWARN has become the standard-bearer for proactive identity verification before face-to-face engagement. The network effects are tangible:

Each new user makes the network more embedded more referenced, and harder to displace. That is the definition of a moat, and Forewarn has built 1.

Derek Dubner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer · 2026-08-10
Now the company is applying its playbook to an adjacent industry facing identical safety challenges. Home health care workers enter unknown and uncontrolled environments alone, and risk signal intelligence is exactly what they need. The addressable market is substantial — an estimated 4 million home health aides and 12,000+ Medicare-certified agencies. Derek highlighted the parallels: "It is extremely sizable, and it has just many of the same characteristics," he said in the Q&A (component 7430197176206129365). The company is moving deliberately, leveraging its real estate experience to build adoption through professional and enterprise relationships, and is already offering both mobile and API-based integration into agency scheduling systems.

Capital and AI: The Next Chapter

Red Violet completed a $109M public offering in Q2, a decisive move after years of self-funding growth. The capital is earmarked for strategic acquisitions and accelerating the AI roadmap. Management outlined five distinct AI dimensions, from vertical application layers to AI-augmented development and agentic capabilities. This is a departure from prior quarters, where the focus was more on enterprise wins and data renewals. As Daniel noted back in Q1 2026, "we have produced near-record onboarding... for quite a while now" (component 5069843109201908022 from 2026-05-06), but now the company is deliberately scaling its go-to-market and product development with fresh capital. Notably, the company is already winning against incumbents. In the public sector, Red Violet displaced one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the country, where the incumbent tried to cut price but the agency still chose IDI for the better product. That proof point underscores the competitive moat. And while management remains disciplined about M&A, the bar is high: strategic fit and synergy first, valuation second. The capital raise signals confidence, but also urgency — exactly the balance that has defined the company since its 2018 spin-off. The next couple of quarters will reveal how well Red Violet executes on its new trajectory. The record customer adds, the FOREWARN network expansion, and the AI investment all point to a company at an inflection point — one that is not just riding the identity intelligence wave, but building the infrastructure to stay ahead of it.
